ComicCon Comics
Where even superheroes get silly
I write to you from an undisclosed location inside the San Diego Convention Center, where a decidedly unconventional event is taking place: ComicCon International!
This is the granddaddy of all ComicCons (or perhaps the grandmama, since it’s spoiling us rotten with treats and goodies). It’s also my first time attending a Con of any kind. Talk about diving into the deep end.
Tonight we’ll find out whether my debut cartoon collection wins the Eisner Award for Best Humor Publication! You still have a few hours to order a copy before the results are in—why not send some good karma my way?! (If you order 10 or more copies I’ll personally thank you in my acceptance speech, wink wink.)
In honor of ComicCon, please enjoy this mighty team of superhero cartoons. With great power comes great responsibility… to not take yourself too seriously.
And speaking of great power: you alone control the destiny of my Substack! I create this content for you, dear readers, but I can’t do it without your generous support. For just $7 a month or $70 a year you’ll get to smash the paywall like Hulk and enjoy exclusive cartoons, process videos, New Yorker pitches, and bonus extras every week.
Up, up, and away (to the polls this midterm)!
More cartoons await you, just on other side ; )
